In a Vehicle-to-Vehicle Frontal Crash Prevention 2.0 test conducted by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), the Honda Prologue achieved a “Good” rating - the highest possible - for its performance in forward collision warning and automatic braking systems, demonstrating its excellent capabilities in preventing collisions. The Polestar 3 has not been tested.

Both the Prologue and the Polestar 3 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver and front passenger knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front and rear seatbelt pretensioners, front wheel drive, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning and available around view monitors.

Honda’s powertrain warranty covers the Prologue 1 year and 10,000 miles longer than Polestar covers the 3. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 5 years or 60,000 miles. Coverage on the Polestar 3 ends after only 4 years or 50,000 miles.

There are almost 35 times as many Honda dealers as there are Polestar dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Prologue’s warranty.

For better traction, the Prologue Elite’s tires are larger than the largest tires available on the Polestar 3 (275/45R21 vs. 265/45R21).

The Honda Prologue’s wheels have 6 lugs for longer wheel bearing life, less chance of rotor warping and greater strength. The Polestar 3 only has 5 wheel lugs per wheel.

The Prologue has a standard easy tire fill system. When inflating the tires, the vehicle’s integrated tire pressure sensors keep track of the pressure as the tires fill and tell the driver when the tires are inflated to the proper pressure. The Polestar 3 doesn’t offer vehicle monitored tire inflation.

Having a flat tire is dangerous, inconvenient and expensive. The self-sealing tires available on the Prologue can automatically seal most punctures up to 3/16 of an inch, effectively preventing most flat tires. The Polestar 3 doesn’t offer self-sealing tires.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Prologue’s wheelbase is 4.3 inches longer than on the Polestar 3 (121.8 inches vs. 117.5 inches).

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the Prologue is .2 inches wider in the front and 1.1 inches wider in the rear than on the Polestar 3.

The Honda Prologue may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 600 to 750 pounds less than the Polestar 3.

The Prologue has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat up than the Polestar 3 with its rear seat up (25.2 vs. 17.1 cubic feet). The Prologue has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat folded than the Polestar 3 with its rear seat folded (57.7 vs. 50 cubic feet).

The Prologue’s standard towing capacity is much higher than the Polestar 3’s (1500 vs. 0 pounds).

The Prologue’s power mirror controls are mounted on the armrest for easy access. The Polestar 3’s power mirror controls are embedded in the infotainment system, seriously distracting drivers who have to adjust them while driving.
